The Breathlessness Clinic is a new program which aims to empower patients to develop the necessary skills to improve their quality of life, promote self-management, reduce psychological and physical distress and avoid hospital admissions.
- A clinical assessment by a doctor and physiotherapist
- Weekly two-hour group sessions held over 4 weeks
- An exercise program
- Education from occupational therapists, clinical psychologist or palliative care specialist
Who will benefit
Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cancer, pulmonary fibrosis or other illnesses causing breathlessness.
Patients should require minimal or no assistance for mobility and must be able to actively participate in exercise and education.
How to refer
Your GP or staff specialist will need to complete the form below noting that assessment is required for Greenwich's Breathlessness Program.
